The Best Driving Roads In Canada
Canada is a huge landmass. Mountain, forest, riverside, lakeside and Ocean roads can be found here.
If you are used to driving in the USA, you will not have much problem in Canada. The only difference is that all posted speed limits are in Kilometers per Hour and distances are in Kilometers (as a rule of thumb you can use the 60mph is 100kmh conversion). Speed limits on the roads you will be driving in rural areas are usually 100kph with speeds in built-up areas down at 50kph and 80kph on highways.
The cops use both radar and speed cameras to catch us in the heinous act of speeding. One thing to note is that radar detectors are illigal. If you have one on display and you do get stopped - you will be fined and the detector will be confiscated. Also, as in most places now, seatbelts are mandatory (so they should be) and mobile phones must only be used handsfree (no texting).
The two other things to look out for are the weather and animals - big ones. The weather in Winter is, as you would expect, pretty bad - so plan your trips accordingly. June, July and Aufust are the best times with long days and short nights. As for the animals - watch out for Moose - if you hit ones of these things, which are the largest of the deer family, you could do serious damage.
