The Carretera de Tossa By Jeff Thompson
 Jealousy is not something to be proud of - but that was what I was feeling when driving enthusiast Jeff Thompson contacted me with details of his recent road trip.
Jeff, a stunning Ferrari F430, two buddies, a Lamborghini Gallardo and an Audi F8 spent some time in Europe this summer. And by the looks of it, they may have had a good time driving on some amazing roads.
Jeff was kind enough to detail two routes - here is the first - and I will let Jeff tell his own story in his own words:-
North East of Barcelona on the Costa Brava you will find the Seaside town of Sant Feliu de Guixol. It is here that one would begin the Carretera de Tossa on the GI-682 towards Tossa del Mar. It can be driven in either direction but most enjoy driving towards Tossa del Mar first.
Be warned as this can be a very dangerous road. The road clings to the hills over looking the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea and will tempt you to look at the fantastic views.
As you head towards Tossa del Mar mostly you will be heading lower towards the Med. There are so many twists and turns to remember it's just a joy to let loose and drive your road missile. I've driven this amazing road a number of times and the last time I went out with two friends in the Audi R8, Ferrari F430 F1 and the Lamborghini Gallardo.
The one friend who is a Doctor after arriving in Tossa told me "it'll take a scalpel to remove this smile" pointing to his face.
The best time of year to drive would be in June as there's less traffic and longer days making it a great driving experience!
Pull into Tossa del Mar after your extreme drive and walk up to the top of the old Fort and enjoy a drink at the Lighthouse bar with a unbelievable view of the Med. This is not a long road but you will think it never ends as your concentration will be on high-alert.
