The Lang Whang - Britains's A70

The A70 in Scotland - called The Lang Whang - runs between Edinburgh and Ayr for approximately 75 miles.

This road is famous, not just as amazing road to drive, but for something a little more sinister. In 1827 there was a series of 17 murders committed in Edinburgh. The victims were killed by two Irish immigrants, William Burke and William Hare, who would bring the dead bodies along this desolate road on the way to being sold for dissection to Dr. Robert Knox who used them to demonstrate medical procedures for his students.

Much of The Lang Whang is desserted moorland that rises and falls, twists and turns - making it a great road to drive - just watch out for the ghosts!
